The Job Itself
WHAT THE WORK ACTUALLY INVOLVES

Survey and measure
We measure every opening individually rather than assuming a house full of identical windows - older properties settle and almost never match. You see the glass spec, the frame colour and the hardware finish written down before anything is ordered.
- 02
Careful removal
Old frames come out without wrecking the plaster reveal or the render bead. On older brick, that means cutting the sealant and the fixings first rather than pulling the frame out with the wall attached to it.
- 03
Fit, level and insulate
New frames are packed and fixed square, expanding foam fills the cavity around them, and cills are bedded so water runs out rather than sitting under the frame. Composite doors get their hinges and keeps adjusted to close on a fingertip.

Make good and finish
Internal reveals are made good, external joints are sealed with a low-modulus silicone, trims are fitted, and the old frames and glass leave with us the same day.
Honest Pricing
WHAT IT'S LIKELY TO COST
Windows and doors are priced per unit and by glazing spec. A single window replacement is the smallest job; a full house of windows and a new front door is a larger project. Composite front doors carry a different price band to uPVC. Every quote is a fixed written price including removal, installation and FENSA certification.
A standard UPVC casement window is typically £450 to £750 fitted. Composite front doors usually run £1,100 to £1,800 depending on style, glazing and hardware.
WHAT MOVES THE PRICE
- Number and size of openings, and how many are opening lights rather than fixed panes
- Glazing spec: standard double, triple, toughened, obscure or acoustic
- Frame colour and finish - anthracite and woodgrain foils cost more than white
- Whether cills, lintels or reveals need repair once the old frame is out
- Bay windows, which need a structural bay pole and take considerably longer
NOT INCLUDED
- Internal decorating and plastering beyond making good the reveal
- New lintels or structural opening alterations
- Blinds, shutters and curtain pole refitting
- Electrical work where an alarm sensor is attached to an old frame
Timescales
HOW LONG IT TAKES - AND IF THE WEATHER TURNS
- Manufacture is normally two to four weeks from order; fitting is booked once the units are in.
- A full house of windows is typically one to two days. A single door is a morning.
- We fit in the rain without drama - openings are worked one at a time so the house is never left open, and only the final external silicone needs a dry couple of hours, which we can return for if needed.
