Fascias, soffits and bargeboards are what protect the edge of your roof from the weather. When they start to rot, you don't just get an eyesore - damp gets into the loft, pests find their way in, and over time the roof structure itself starts to suffer.
We replace fascias and soffits in modern low-maintenance uPVC across a wide range of colours and woodgrain finishes, or cap over sound timber if the underlying boards are still in good condition.
New uPVC guttering is included as standard with every fascia replacement, so the whole roofline is sorted in one go.

The Job Itself
WHAT THE WORK ACTUALLY INVOLVES

Strip out, never cap over
Capping is the industry's favourite shortcut: a thin plastic sheet nailed over rotten wood. It looks tidy for two years while the timber behind keeps rotting. We take the old fascia off completely and expose the rafter feet.
- 02
Repair the rafter feet
With the fascia off we can see the ends of the rafters, which are the part that rots first. Any soft ends are cut back and spliced, and a new tilt fillet goes on so the bottom course of tiles sits at the right angle.
- 03
Fit full-replacement board
18mm or 25mm solid UPVC fascia fixed with stainless polytop nails at proper centres, vented soffit board to keep the loft breathing, and bargeboards scribed to the verge rather than mitred roughly and filled.
- 04
Re-hang the gutter and finish
The gutter goes back on new brackets set to a true fall, felt is dressed into it with an eaves protector, and the old timber and nails leave with us.
Honest Pricing
WHAT IT'S LIKELY TO COST
Fascia and soffit jobs are priced by linear metre-run and complexity of access. A simple terraced front is the cheapest job; full wrap-around with bargeboards and new guttering on a detached house costs more. uPVC is the standard material; coloured and woodgrain finishes carry a small upcharge. Every quote is fixed and in writing.
Front elevation only on a standard semi is typically £700 to £1,300. A full wrap-around including bargeboards and new guttering usually falls between £1,800 and £3,200.
WHAT MOVES THE PRICE
- Total run in metres and the number of gable ends and bay windows
- How much rafter-foot repair is needed once the old board is off
- Board colour and finish - woodgrain, black ash and anthracite cost more than white
- Whether new guttering is fitted at the same time, which is usually cheaper than doing it later
- Access, scaffold or tower requirements on three-storey and dormer properties
NOT INCLUDED
- Painting or repair of rendered soffits on older properties
- Loft ventilation upgrades beyond the vented soffit itself
- Removal of satellite dishes, alarm boxes and cabling fixed to the old boards
- Structural rafter replacement beyond splicing the ends
Timescales
HOW LONG IT TAKES - AND IF THE WEATHER TURNS
- One elevation is normally a single day.
- A full house wrap-around is two to three days.
- Silicone and adhesive do not behave in heavy rain and open eaves should not be left exposed to a downpour, so we work elevation by elevation and close each one up before we leave site.
